College Preparatory Diploma Track

The College Preparatory Diploma is our most rigorous diploma option. A minimum of 20 credits are required for graduation, at least 5.5 of which must be completed at The Brook Hill Academy. The remaining 14.5 credits may be transferred from students’ local high school into The Brook Hill Academy and/or taken through Brook Hill core courses.

College Preparatory Diploma students also have the option of taking additional optional courses at The Brook Hill Academy, including live online courses. Students may also earn university course credit for some of the high school courses they take at The Brook Hill Academy.

The minimum of 5.5 Brook Hill credits for this diploma usually include the following courses:

  • English 9 (1 credit)

  • English 10 (1 credit)

  • English 11 (1 credit)

  • English 12 (1 credit)

  • U.S. History (1 credit)

  • U.S. Government & Politics (0.5 credit)

The remaining 14.5 credits in the following subjects may be transferred from students’ local high school and/or completed at The Brook Hill Academy:

Mathematics (4 credits), including all of the following courses:

  • Algebra I

  • Geometry

  • Algebra II

  • Student’s choice of secondary level math class

​

Science (3 credits), including three (3) of the following courses:

  • Earth and Space Sciences

  • Biology

  • Chemistry

  • Physics

​

Social Science (1.5 credits), including all of the following courses:

  • World History (1 credit)

  • Economics (0.5 credit)

 

Physical Education/Health (2 credits, 0.5 of which must be Health):

  • Physical Education/Health

  • Physical Education/Health

​

World Language (2 credits/3 preferred), including all of the following courses:

  • Choice of World Language, Level I

  • Choice of World Language, Level II

​

Visual/Performing Arts (1 credit), including the following course:

  • Choice of Visual/Performing Arts secondary level class

​

Electives (1 credit), including the following courses. Additional science courses may count as electives:

  • Student’s choice of elective​​
